The VARIO-System combines a classic upright piano with the many features of a digital piano. You keep your usual playing action because you are playing on a traditional mechanism. Muting is now possible: you can play whenever you want and for as long as you want. Any time of the day or night. Just like in a soundproof booth, no sound can escape.

After you touch a key, a rod built into the mechanism stops the hammer before it hits the string. Sensors convert the touching of the key, digitising the note and the volume. You always hear a genuine piano tone. When the VARIO system is on, the sound playback has a pleasant tone colour and dynamic. The stored sound was recorded in stereo from a real acoustic instrument and then digitised.

Play away calmly without anybody listening. Your path to success is free from stress. If the neighbours are bothered by your playing or your dear family members are smiling at your little mistakes. The VARIO system prevents unwanted eavesdroppers. A connection socket for headphones enables you to listen to musical accompaniment. This system is the perfect addition for professionals with long practice sessions. With digital sound, the type of spatial acoustics can be varied. The selection ranges from the atmosphere of an intimate room to that of a large concert hall.

There are numerous ways of combining it with other music sources, sound generators and amplifiers. A small box beneath the keyboard contains additional sockets for connectiong loudspeakers, a stereo system or a CD player, should you wish to play along to a conceert, for example. Multimedia: a synthesiser, an expander and many other devices can be connected via the MIDI connection in the form of a command transmitter, and the data from your playing can be transmitted to a suitably equipped computer.
